I know this is old news but, why is this no longer sold in America? I learned about Novamin through reddit and it's infuriating that I can't find it for sale.

Burt's bees discontinued their product containing the ingredient and sensodyne simply re-marketed their restore and repair line to include stannous flouride instead. From the tube I picked up in Hong Kong it seems like it is currently manufactured by GSK in the UK, still using the original sensodyne label. The only online retail outlets seem to be from overseas which explains the absurd prices that can be found on amazon and eBay.
I can find many articles more mentioning that Novamin was pulled from US shelves but haven't seen a reason why. Some commenters claim that the ADA or FDA is responsible but I've seen no proof either way.
This is one of the biggest advances is toothpaste formulation and for whatever reason Americans aren't being allowed access.
